The major search engines, Google, Bing and Yahoo all offer a pay per click service.  For Google it's Adwords, Bing it's adCenter and Yahoo is Sponsored Search, although they've all got different names, the principal is the same.  When you do a search for a product, you get a list of all the sites that the search engine thinks are relevant and then a list of sites that are prepared to pay to be listed.

You could spend hundreds of pounds every month and get lots of clicks but no results, or you could spend a little each month and get lots of new customers.
